Goofy Project #5049: Now Less Colorful than Before

Monday started when I picked up 160 square feet of .040" thick acrylonitrile butadiene styrene sheets.  Then I collected Mallory, my occasional workshop assistant, so she could make her first contribution to this ordeal.  To start with, we disassembled everything that was in my folks' garage and put all of the vehicles back inside.  Then I armed her with a couple of gallons of dark gray primer, a roller, and a paintbrush.  Unfortunately, she's a 21-year old girl and I left her unsupervised with her cellphone.  So not a lot happened at first:

After a quick lunch break, she set to work making the plywood look less wooden:

In short order, all of the parts of Project #5049 that would be visible when assembled were grey:

So now the whole thing now sits like so:

Tomorrow I will be building and wiring the oven.  Stay tuned...

  1. This still makes no sense.
I almost thought I knew what it was, and then you said something about an oven...

  2. @ Hafnate:
After seeing the post before this I'm assuming the oven will be for a vacuum former.
    Although I could be wrong.
